This Genuine LUMINOR RAINIER RQ-720 UV Replacement Quartz Sleeve is the replacement sleeve for LUMINOR RAINIER UV water purification systems LR5-552, LR6-552, LR5-1102, LR6-1102, LR5-555, LR5-555-2, LR6-555, LR6-555-2, LR5-1105, LR5-1105-2, LR6-1105, and LR6-1105-2.

The quartz sleeve keeps the UV lamp from shorting out and maintains the lamp's ideal operating temperature. Mineral build-up hinders the lamp's effectiveness, so if  the sleeve cannot be 100% cleaned, it needs to be replaced.  It is recommended to clean the UV sleeve at least annually and have a spare UV sleeve available, which is an easy do it yourself replacement.
